As a rule of thumb, provide sufficient dance floor for one  half of your guests to dance at one time.  Example: for 80 guests (40 couples) figure that 1/2 of the guests are dancing at one time, therefore 20 couples would be on the dance floor and you would need a 8' x 16' dance floor

Tables and chairs must be kept off the dance floor.
